Scalp Health Is Important Too...

I think we're all coming to the understanding that there’s not an inch on our body that we shouldn’t be taking extra care of nowadays. Get those dead skin cells off & moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. Right? At least that’s what we're told to do to our body, what about our scalp?

The #1 hair step that you are probably forgetting, scalp scrub. We use an exfoliator on our legs, our arms, our face! Our scalp gets dry too, and might need some extra lovin'. Hair loss, product buildup, flaky or oily scalps, a scrub is what you've been missing.

The Benefits:

Ah, the benefits of using a scalp scrub are no doubt beneficial. Exfoliating with a scrub once a week stimulates hair follicles, removes product buildup, and detoxifies the scalp. Ultimately creating a cleaner scalp, promoting hair growth, & getting fuller less brittle locks of yours. Should we go on?

How often should I use a scalp scrub?

Our favorite part about adding in a scalp scrub to your routine is that you probably already have the ingredients at home in your pantry. Instead of rushing to the store to purchase an overpriced scrub, opt for making your own at home. It's super easy! We have rounded up our top 2 tried and true at home scalp scrubs. Take a look below at our picks:

DIY Scalp Scrub: (Brown Sugar + Oatmeal)

- 2 tbsp brown sugar

- 2 tbsp ground oatmeal

- 4 tbsp conditioner

- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

- optional 5 drops essential oil

Directions:

Start with an empty bowl & pour in your oats + brown sugar. These are your exfoliants and what is the 'scrubby' part of this DIY. Bye bye flakey scalp and product build up! Add in 1 tbsp of ACV for dandruff help + added shine benefits. An optional 5 drops of rosemary essential oil is great to stimulate hair follicles & growth. Now conditioner time! Grab your favorite conditioner and squirt about 4 pumps into the mixture. Add more depending on moisture level. Stir until mixed evenly and you are good to go. Scrub away!
