How To *Properly* Sleep With Wet Hair

If you're a night shower type of person, or maybe you know you won't have time in the morning so you might as well do it now.. Us too sometimes. But the worst part about showering before bed is sleeping on wet hair. Not only is it uncomfortable for you, but it really isn't the healthiest for those locks. And we all know how hair ends up looking.. A frizzy birds nest of a look in the morning. You're left trying to straighten it down as best as you can, and most of the time we don't have the time or energy! Not only that but heatless hair days are good too...

I don't know about you guys, but when we think of going to sleep at night we think of our ideal environment. A comfy cozy bed, candles, relaxing music... Did we set the mood well enough? Well, nowhere in that peaceful wind down of a night includes sopping wet hair. That will be a no for us. But we all know how realistic that scenario is. After a long day most people like to shower.

Don't sleep with sopping wet hair..

At least let hair air dry a bit before you hop into bed, damp hair is better than sopping wet. Sleeping with super wet hair is not only just uncomfortable.. But can lead to tangles, damage, and hair thinning. Things that we just want to avoid as best as we can. If you don't have the time to wait for hair to dry down a bit, run a blow dryer throughout briefly. But don't forget the heat protectant..

Silk scrunchie

If you don't want to blow-dry your hair, this might be a game changer for you. Just like a silk pillowcase is helpful, a silk scrunchie is similar. Prevents creases in hair, frizz, and just keeps everything pulled back while you sleep. Decreases the likely hood that you will wake up with a rats nest, which we can all relate to.

Silk Pillowcase

As previously stated, buying a silk pillowcase might be helpful. Not only does it also help prevents crease & frizz in the hair, but it is the best route to go if you are consistently sleeping on wet hair.

Never skip the products

Sleeping on damp untreated hair can cause fly aways, frizz, & damage. Whether it be your leave in conditioner, a blow dry mist with heat protectant, or smoothing cream. Put your hairs fav products in while damp!

Braid, braid, braid...

Teach yourself heatless hairstyles!! We all know this, but the least amiunt of heat we can use on our hair, the better. We want to keep hair looking glossy forever. Braid your hair overnight or teach yourself the heatless curl technique, TikTok can help you out with that one..
